Joan M. Volosin

Joan M. Volosin, 74, of Conway, SC, formerly of Weirton, died April 20, 2001 at the Conway Hospital in Conway South Carolina. She was born May 6, 1926 in Hollidays Cove, a daughter of the late Clarence and Marie Stackpole Riffee. She was also preceded in death by a sister Lois Jean Newman Joan worked in golf course management. She and her husband George, a PGA golf professional, served in the Tygart Valley Country Club in Elkins, WV, Greenhills Country Club in Fairmont, WV and Sandy Brae Country Club in Charleston WV prior to her husband taking the golf professional position at the USMC base in Cherry Point, NC. Surviving her husband, George Volosin, of Conway, SC; two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Janice) Payne, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Mrs. Randy (Judy) Burow, of Houston, TX; two brothers, Clarence ''Sonny'' Riffee, of Weirton, and Don Riffee, of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Christine Lipke, of Weirton; and three grandchildren, Christopher Payne, Stephanie Payne, and Jason Burow. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Sunday and 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM Tuesday at Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church in Weirton. Burial will be at Saint Nicholas Cemetery, Weirton.
