Joan Tulenko Strunak

Joan Tulenko Strunak, 68, of Weirton, died, August 29, 2001 at West Penn Hospital. She was born on January 27, 1933 in Weirton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Blanar Tulenko. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John G. Strunak in November 1987, and one brother; John Tulenko. Joan was retired from New City Auto Sales and Sunset Volkswagen as a bookkeeper. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Rite Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Choir and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons: Michael of Oakdale, PA and John of Sylva, NC, two daughters: Helen Strunak of Weirton and Joan Tournay of Jacksonville, FL, one brother: Joseph D. Tulenko, Jr. of Weirton and 2 grandchildren: Jennifer and Gregory Strunak of Oakdale, PA. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Friday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton. Blessing services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home followed by Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Byzantine Church. Parastas service will be 8:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home. Rosary devotions will be held 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
