Joanna Marleen Ayers

Joanna Marleen Ayers, 90, of Colliers passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019. Born April 2, 1929 in McDonald, PA she was a daughter of the late William R. and Laura Bleakney Barkley. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lawrence M. Ayers; son Lawrence “Boots” Ayers and brother Deloyd Barkley. Marleen attended the Paris Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her sons, Franklin Ayers of Colliers, Danny Ayers of Carlisle, PA and Ronald “Keith” Ayers of Wheeling; daughters Linda Renner of New Cumberland, Brenda Ferguson of Weirton and Sharon Ayers of Colliers; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers William Barkley of Weirton and Kenneth Barkley of Follansbee and sisters Vonnie Williamson of Colliers, Darla Parrish of Colliers and Harriet Demko of Las Vegas, Nevada. Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton where funeral services will be celebrated at 1PM Saturday .
