john maceyak
John Frank Maceyak, 89, of Weirton, passed away Monday, February, 28, 2011 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born May 17, 1921 in Central City, PA, he was a son of the late John F. and Susan Balich Maceyak. He was also preceded in death by his wife Stella Gvodich Maceyak on April 24, 2009, brother Michael Maceyak and sisters Ann Fox and Mary Cacic. With 40 years of service, John retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as an electrical supervisor in the Hot Mill. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3734. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Maceyak is survived by his daughters Janet Lee Lynch and her husband John David of Morgantown, WV and Karen Sue Darney and her husband Bruce of Lewisberry, PA; brother Joseph Maceyak of Massillon, OH; 4 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 6-8pm and Thursday from 9-10:30am at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11am Thursday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad.
