John Pipakis

John Pipakis, 78, a Weirton, died Tuesday, Feb 27, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born July 15, 1922 in Rhodes, Greece son of the late Emanuel and Stergoula Pipakis. His wife Bessie Christi Pipakis preceded him in death. Mr. Pipakis retired from National Steel with 30-year service as an oil systems operator in the Tin Mill Department. He was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Ahepa, and Weirton Steel 25 year club. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Spero and Jeanine Pipakis, of Carnegie, PA, a brother, Angelo and two sisters Sultana and Panayota all of Greece; two grandchildren Sarah & John Pipakis. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton and Thursday, March 1,10:00 am until time of services 11:00 am at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton.
