  1. Dear Cousins: I am still at a total loss for words, having received the shocking news that Uncle Jack had died today. None of us would have ever expected such news. We all know that God is good and will be our strength. God was the surety and strength of your family and the marriage bond that your parents shared. In the past fifty-plus years your parents were separated not even three months. Now they are together again for eternity, basking in the radiant light of Christ, God the Father and the glorious and loving Holy Spirit. We can take comfort in that as we work through our grieving an the pain of loss. I deeply regret that I will not be able to be in Weirton with you in the coming days. My prayers for all of you have been constant all day since receiving the news. You shall be ever present on my heart and in my mind in the coming days and as we celebrate the Salvation won for us by Christ this Easter Season. Love always, with prayer, Stas’

  9. Your Dad was always my Uncle Jack from my earliest memories. I remember a youthful Uncle who loved to sit on the floor and play cars and trucks or take me outside to learn to play baseball when we visited Babi Platt’s house on Thurman Avenue in Weirton. He would take us for rides in his convertible, and we would watch him play team baseball at the F.O.P. fields on sunny summer Sunday afternoons. I followed with pride his service in the Army, and especially remember packing care boxes for him to send to a place called Vietnam which was just starting to come up in the nightly news. And I fondly remember the day he married your Mom and the celebration that followed at Kosciusko Hall. Uncle Jack was there for us when he was needed, and became an excellent role model as a husband, father, family member, grandfather, provider and Knight of Columbus. I learned many life lessons at the side of or in observation of my Uncle Jack and Aunt Linda. We are so glad that their life passed through ours. We will be with you in spirit as you prepare to take your Dad to his final resting place today, and be comforted by the fact that he is reunited in Eternity with your Mom, basking in the Light of the Lord. 10. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. When someone we love dies, it’s natural to want to see that person again. God promises us that He will comfort us in our trials if we go to him in prayer. 2 Corinthians 1:3 calls him the God of all comfort. I’d like to share with y’all this link that shows 12 steps on coping with grief that is good for sharing. I have personally found this very comforting and I hope y’all do as well. https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&docid=102018086&srcid=share

  11. Walt, thank you so much, our Dad lived a life to be modeled from, which was such a blessing to my brothers and me. He loved your family, and we grateful to you and your family for being such an integral part of our family through the years. Love, David
