Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV 26062 304 748-3219 Obituary John Skunda 89, of Weirton, died Sunday at the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Mr. Skunda was born July 16,1911 in Sidney, Pa., son of the late Michael and Anna Matta Skunda. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Mestrovic Skunda, two brothers, George and Michael Skunda and one sister Anna McCardel. Mr. Skunda retired from Wheeling Steel Corp., where he worked for 48 years in the Electrical Department as a crane operator. He also served as a Weirton Volunteer fire fighter, for over 30 years. Mr. Skunda was a member of the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Weirton. He is survived by three daughters, Karen Weintraub and her husband Dr. Marvin of Inverness, Ill., Betty Webster, and her husband Charles of Mansfield, Ohio, Judy Juskowich and her husband Kenneth of Morgantown, WV. Grandchildren, Paul and Lisa Chuma Jr. of Ivanhoe, Ill., Deborah and Todd Applegate of Noblesville, Ind., Dr Charles and Michelle Webster of Cincinnati, Ohio, Maria and Matthew Hesselbart, of Longwood, Florida and Joy J. Juskowich, of Morgantown, WV. Great grandchildren, Eric and Austin Applegate, triplets Katherine, Elizabeth, and Nicholas Chuma, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20, 2001, from 2:00PM to 9:00PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. A panachida service will be held Tuesday evening at 8:30PM in the funeral home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11:00AM at the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church on Colliers Way in Weirton. Memorial contribution may be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice. Interment will be in St. Andrews Russian Cemetery, Mingo Junction, Ohio.
