John T. Kendrick 83, of Weirton, died January 7, 2002, at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born May 18, 1918 in Weirton, son of the late Andrew and Anna Dguan Kendrick. A brother Joseph Kendrick and two sisters Ann Kruger and Mary Sheftic also preceded him. John was WWII Navy veteran, and a member of the VFW of Weirton. He was retired from Weirton Steel, as a general foreman in the Coke Pant Dept. He had 42 years service with the company. He was a member of the 25-year club, and Weirton Steel Management Club. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, the church choir, Holy Name Society, and he was a Eucharistic Minister. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Rusen Kendrick of Weirton, four sons, Thomas and his wife Barbara, Donald and his wife Kathy, John Daniel and his wife Sheila all of Weirton, and Nick and his wife Cheryl of Bethany, WV. He has eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday January 8, 2002, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 main St., Weirton, WV, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30PM. Funeral liturgy with mass will be Wednesday, 10:00AM at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Weirton. Entombment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery Mausoleum.
