John William Wilcox, Sr., 70, of Weirton died suddenly on Tuesday July 2, 2019, while camping at Tomlinson Run State Park. A son of the late John D. and Thelma Leasure Wilcox, John was born on January 1, 1949 in Marietta, OH. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Forester Wilcox on February 22, 2017; his brother, Srewart “Buzz” Wilcox, and his sister, Naomi Baker. John graduated from Tyler County Schools, and served his country as a Sargent in the United States Army. He retired as a Department Supervisor at Homer Laughlin China. John loved hunting, boating, camping, and spending his time with his family, and friends. His favorite vacation spot was Myrtle Beach South Carolina and his favorite sport’s teams were the West Virginia University Football and Basketball teams. He was a terrible cook, unless you liked your food overdone. Most of all John will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He will be remembered with love by his son, John Wilcox, Jr. (Michelle) of Weirton, WV; his daughter, Christie Wilcox of Colliers, WV; his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Carli), Courtney, Jordan, Gabe, and Eli.
