Joseph Thomas Schockow

Joseph Thomas Schockhow of Weirton passed away at the Weirton Medical Center after becoming ill at home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. He was 81 years old. Born on January 23, 1940, in Steubenville, OH., he was one of three children born to the late Thomas and Grace E. Feist Schockow. Joe retired from the Weirton Medical Center’s maintenance department after fifty-plus years of service. During his retirement, Joe enjoyed spending time with his wife, Doreen, going on hunting and fishing trips throughout the area. In addition to her parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen E. Schockow, who passed away on October 4, 2021, and his sisters Dorothy Spurrier and Nancy Bishop. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Joetta Schockow of New Martinsville and Cindy Krnaich of New Cumberland, grandchildren Michael and Jennifer Krnaich, Ashley and Christina Schockow, great-grandson Grayson Lee Burrelson Schockow, and great-granddaughters, Riley, Ariel, and Lydia, and brother Albert Schockow. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17, from 9:00AM until the time of the 10:00AM service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
