Joseph A. DeCollo, Sr.

Joseph A. DeCollo, 80 of Weirton, died Friday April 26, 2002 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born June 22, 1921 in Weirton, the son of the late Tobbio and Judith Valenti DeCollo. Three brothers, Anthony, Flavian, and Costantino DeCollo also preceded him. Joseph retired from the Weirton Steel Company in 1976 where he was a general foreman in the Tin Mill cleaning lines. He had forty years of service with the company. He was a member of the 25-year club of Weirton Steel and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Weirton. He is survived by his wife Lena Montisano DeCollo of Weirton. A son Joseph DeCollo and his wife Kathleen, and a daughter Mary Jo Ross and her husband Herb all of Weirton also survives him. He has five grandchildren, Herb and Rich Ross, Judy Macaluso, Diana DeCollo and Jennifer Depew. He has two great grandchildren, Ross and Alayna Macaluso. He has one sister Mrs. Sam Mary LoPresti of Weirton. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV. Funeral liturgy with mass will be Monday April 29, 2002, at 10:00AM at St. Joseph the Worker Church.
