Joseph D. Tulenko, Jr.

Joseph D. Tulenko, Jr., 76, of Weirton, died Saturday, February 19, 2005 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1928, a son of the late Joseph Tulenko, Sr. and Helen (Blanar) Tulenko. In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his brother, John Tulenko and his sister, JoAnn Strunak. Joe was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. He retired from the Steubenville Plant Boiler House of Weirton Steel, where he worked as a boiler repairman. He also retired from Trinity West where he worked as a boiler operator. Joe served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann Marie (Kuczykowski) Tulenko, whom he married September 13, 1952; three sons, David J. Tulenko and his wife Nancy, Jerry L. Tulenko and his wife Vicky, and Tom Tulenko all of Weirton; four grandchildren, Robert J. Tulenko and his fiancé Missy Riggs, Joseph T. Tulenko , Danielle Tulenko Daugherty, and Kristen Ann Tulenko; and one great grandson Cross Robert Tulenko. Friends will be received Monday from 6-9 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a Parastas service will be held at 8 PM. Blessing Services will be held 8:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home followed by 9 AM funeral services at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Weirton. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH with Military Services conducted by the VFW Firing Squad and Evert Maki American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.
