Dear Joko: Thank you for your warmth, your kindness, showing by example how to handle tragedy through the use of hope and humor, teaching me to drive, being a great companion and friend to my Dad, always having your door open for my family, getting my Mom to laugh so hard she’d cry, understanding children’s dreams–and understanding their grief, being someone anyone could count on, and accepting everyone unconditionally. Thank you for the Tomlinson Run picnics and having a family big enough for a team so I could learn to play baseball. Thank you for providing a sense of normalcy when at times my family needed that most of all. Like everyone, I am so grateful you were in my life.
