Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We are deeply sorry for your loss ~ Greco Hertnick Funeral Home

  2. I met Paul 32 years ago so had the pleasure of watching his unique approach to life over many years. Many young adults, including our 3 kids, benefited from his lessons on life and athletics. Well organized, knowledgeable, productive and confident during his classes, teaching sessions and games regardless of the subject or sport. We are all very grateful! Paul did not deserve the severe health challenges heaped on him, yet he aggressively implemented every beneficial health strategy with grace and dignity. He has been a hero! God Bless Paul who is in a much better place. God Bless Mom, wife Shelly and the whole family. We mourn your loss; our loss too.

  3. My memories of Paul are not specific. He always coached and taught his students and players to do things the right way. His energy and knowledge were contagious. Thousands benefitted from his work and love; players, students and families.

  4. Coach Paul Haught was one of a kind. He loved his family, his sports, and his soul music. He loved helping people. He was a good man. Prayers to Shelley, Paul Michael, Joey, Robbie, Leah, and the entire family. Coach Haught will be missed, but remembered.

  5. Mr. Haught was my high school teacher in the early 80’s. He was the best of the best. He was kind, friendly towards the students, and an encourager. On one specific occasion, when my discipline was beginning to go south, he shared some thoughts from his heart and it turned my attitude completely around (for the good). I still remember his words. I’m forever grateful for Mr. Haught.

  6. I send u my deepest condolences and prayers for the family. I am an old friend of Lou . We worked together many years ago. Love that lady! Gods Blessings to you all , Johnnie Verner

  7. I had Mr. Haught as a teacher at Madonna High School. He was one of the best teachers I ever had. About 3 years ago my husband John Burns, who also went to Madonna and had Mr Haught and I saw him at a funeral in Weirton. He spoke to my husband for a very long time and would actually call him out of the blue many times just to talk. He will be missed. He was loved by all of his Madonna families. Andrea Burns

  8. I remember when I was in 8th grade he brought me over from Saint Joe’s and had me look up on the Gym wall and see the posters of the girls playing he told me that my picture would be up there Someday. High school was not always great for me but having a team to be apart of truly helped me plus we got free shoes and a life size poster of ourselves and having a great leader like Coach HAUGHT to learn from was how and why I been a teacher/ coach for 30 yrs. Plus. Through the yrs I have expressed sorrow for letting him down and my team down, because of my lack of maturity, but he never wanted to hear it he always said life goes on we live we learn and he told me his wife always enjoyed watching me play which made me feel good. His drills his words and his notes will go on forever they are now used by all that I have coached too, Thank you for letting me share the pictures are my poster that was up how embarrassing and Lori Krayzel showing off her dancing skills, you go girl ✌️❤️To all of you. Miss you all want to play in a alumni gm.

  11. Mr. Haught was an excellent husband, father, teacher, friend and coach. He gave 100% in everything he dedicated his life towards. He always had time for me to talk about sports and life in general both as a student and adult. My deepest sympathies to Shelly and her children.

  12. I was lucky enough to have Ho as a teacher and helped with the girls basketball team during my high school years… I helped him and Shelley move into their house in brecksville – all those trees in that yard… he always kept in touch.… prayers to Shelley and the kids…
