Josephine M. Ballard, 94, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born February 1, 1917 in Shadyside, OH, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Jasney Scotka. She was also preceded in death by her husband James F. Ballard, brothers Charles and Anthony Scotka and sisters Julia Keyser, Betty Shuska, Matilda Bradish, Christine Roscoe and Agnes McDonald. Mrs. Ballard was a homemaker and a member of the Follansbee Church of Christ. Josephine is survived by her sons Richard Ballard and his wife Sharon of Weirton and James W. Ballard and his wife Anna Mary of Vienna, VA; daughters Lynn Ann Bailey of Omaha, NE and Jo Marie Hartman and her husband Thaddeus of Gainesville, VA; eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren In keeping with Mrs. Ballard's wishes, private services and burial will held at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Follansbee Church of Christ, 861 Neville Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
