Joyce Ann Owings- Alvez, 72, of Weirton died Saturday November 10, 2012, at the Weirton Medical Center.
Born on March 13, 1940 in Wheeling, WV, Joyce was a daughter of the late Darrell K. and Marion Stevenson Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jon Charles Jackson and her nephew, Jon Scott Jackson.
Joyce was a nurse's assistant at Serra Manor.
She is survived by her husband, Francis Alvez of Weirton; her son, William R. "Rick" Owings, Jr. of Nashville, TN; her daughter, Diana Lynn Westlake of Colorado; her brother, Jamie Jackson of Weirton; her two grandchildren, Shawn Owings and Vickie Westlake; and a great grandson, Tavian.
Visitation will be 4-7:30 PM Sunday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where a Funeral Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at 7:30 PM.
Rev. Fr. Manuel Gelido will preside.
Interment will be in Saint Paul Cemetery.

Rick & Diana Lynn, My thoughts and prayers are with you both during this time of sorrow. My favorite memory of your Mom was when I was a little girl, she was married to your father,(my brother) and she would take me over to your grandma’s and they would fix my hair up to make me look pretty. She was a great person. Sorry for your loss. Joyce, may you rest in peace.
