Judith Ann Hamill of Weirton, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and good friend passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Allegheny General Hospital after a brief illness. She was 82 years old. She was born in Steubenville, OH., on May 13, 1939, one of three daughters born to William Joseph and Wilma Margaret Notte. Judy was a lifelong member and nourished her faith at the First United Methodist Church of Weirton. She was a member and class President of the 1957 graduating class of Weir High and the 1960 graduating class of West Liberty State College where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Utilizing her skill for over thirty years as an educator in the Hancock County School System, she helped advance the minds of hundreds of children. Her family described Judy as a very outgoing, humorous individual loving to all and always willing to stop and speak to someone or help. Everyone loved Judy. Judy will be sadly missed by her roommates, she was one-fourth of the “Golden Girls.” Sharing a residence with her sisters and her aunt gave her a great sense of family and she became a tremendous caregiver to all. The love and compassion she had for her family will always be a characteristic of hers that will be forever admired. In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by her Aunt Emily Crawford. Left to cherish her memory with love and admiration is her son Jason (Beronica) Hamill of Warsaw, IN., her daughter Jan (Debbie) Blundell of Indian Wells, CA., sisters Barbara Cottilli and Patricia Notte both of Weirton, granddaughters Gabrieala, Isabella, and Liliana Hamill, niece Casey Wales, great-niece Ericka Wales, and her Aunt Rennitta Black.
