Katherine Hammond

Katherine Hammond, 93, was taken into the Kingdom of God on April 14, 2015.
She was born Aug. 16, 1921 and one of 8 children to John and Julia Stavich. She was the last surviving sibling to her 4 brothers Nick, Emil, Samuel, Michael and her 3 sisters Mildred, Anne, and Dorothy.
Kaye has 2 surviving children, her daughter Armeade Redd-Graham and her husband Edward in Pittsburgh, Pa., and one son James C. Hammond III and his wife Suzanne in Austin, TX., and 3 grandsons David A. Redd of Weirton and Ryan M. Hammond and Sean J. Hammond in Austin, TX and 2 great grandchildren Hunter James Hammond and Mesa Jade Hammond living in Austin, TX..
Kaye was married to her husband Jim for 62 years before his passing at age 85 in Jan. 2003. Jim worked at the Sheet Mill at Weirton Steel for 32 years before retiring at age 65. Kaye owned her own business as a beautician for 26 years. She was a wonderful Christian woman who was always very kind and thoughtful to all and she will be missed as she lives out her eternal life with our great Lord.
Funeral services will be private and the entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens where her husband Jim was entombed in 2003.
