Katherine L. Fijewski

Katherine L. Fijewski, 91, of Weirton, WV died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born May 3, 1920, in Pittsburgh, PA, Katherine was a daughter of the late John and Helen Jaskiewski Jonczak. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maximillian Esidor Ceasar Fijewski on December 6, 1990; a grandson, Daniel Fijewski; brothers, John, Walter (Vutz), William (Bones), Theodore (Teddy) and Benjamin (Bull) Jonczak; and sisters, Helen Alongi and Wanda Budney .
Katherine was a homemaker and a faithful member of Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Saint Paul's Christian Mothers, Weirton Senior Center and numerous card clubs. In her free time, she enjoyed making crafts and was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert M. (Beverly Ann) Fijewski, of Bloomingdale, OH, Maxmillion T. (Judith Ann) Fijewski, and Raymond J. (Susan) Fijewski all of Weirton, WV; two daughters, Elizabeth A. (Bernard) Morris of Follansbee, WV, and Margaret Jean (Richard) Ross of Weirton, WV; 10 grandchildren, Brenda Morris, Melissa Horvat, Kimberly (Scott) Graham, Dr. Todd (Jamie) Fijewski, Brian (Kristin) Fijewski, Marcie (Andrew) Easton, R. Bradley ( Dr. Jackie) Ross, William (Anna) Ross, Deana (Dr. Kirk) Van Derkamp, and Erica (Lorenzo) DeCaria; 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Friday at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton with the Reverend Father Larry Dorsch officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton.

What words would make these days better? I don’t have them or I would share them with you – only a month ago we sat together for my mom your aunt.
