Katherine M. Visnic, 83, of Weirton, WV died Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Valley Hospice Care Center North. Katherine was born on March 7, 1927 in Toronto Ohio, a daughter of the late Steve and Lottie Sembar Karavas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam Visnic, on July 10, 2002, and a brother, Donald “Bunny” Karavas. Katherine is survived by her son, Sam and Debra Visnic of Hillsborough, NJ; her daughters, Stephanie K. Visnic of Cranberry Township, PA, and Christine M. Visnic and her husband Steve Lazarawicz ofSomerset, NJ; her sisters, Connie Stagani of Toronto, OH and Barbara Karavas of Steubenville, OH; her two grandchildren, Steve (Erica) Visnic, and Scott Visnic; and a great granddaughter, Vanessa Visnic. Katherine was a homemaker, who enjoyed reading books, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was a member of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Steubenville, OH Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Monday, at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where services will be held 11 AM Tuesday. The V. Reverend Rade Merick will preside. Interment will be in the Serbian Cemetery, Weirton, WV Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com
