Kathryn P. "Kitty" Heilman

Kathryn “Kitty” P. Heilman, 91, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in the Wyngate Senior Living Community, Weirton. She was born December 1, 1928 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Edith Thompson Rinehart. She was also preceded in death by her husband James W. “Lefty” Heilman on April 25, 2004 and son James W. “Jim” Heilman II on August 12, 2019. For 20 years, Kitty served as an elementary teacher for Hancock County School System. She was a member and Past President of the Junior Women’s Club. She nourished her faith at Cove Presbyterian Church where she also assisted on the funeral dinner committee. An avid WVU fan, she also enjoyed reading a good book and liked playing bridge with her family and friends. In her free time she volunteered her time delivering meals with her sister, Esten, for Meals on Wheels. She will be remembered with love by her daughters Nancy H. Ferrari (Dr. Norman D. Ferrari III) of Morgantown, WV and Patti Heilman of Mt. Lebanon, PA; sisters Esten (John) Jezerski of Weirton and Roberta “Bobbie” (Donnie) Taylor of Wellsburg, and her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nicholas Ferrari. Friends will be received Friday 5-8PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 9 AM until the time of funeral services at 10 AM at the Cove Presbyterian Church, Weirton. Reverend Dr. Ed Rudiger will preside.
