Kathryn S. Doboski, 99, of Weirton, WV passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Grace Cottage of Serra Village in Weirton. Kathryn was born September 9, 1918, in New Cumberland, WV, a daughter of the late John and Marie Maslo Krena. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Doboski in 2005; son, George D. Doboski in 2017; grandson, John David Doboski; 2 brothers, Steve and Tom Krena; and 5 sisters, Ann Wudarsky, Marie Haverfield, Rose Grigsby, Josephine Ingram and an infant sister, Theresa Krena. Kathryn was a stay at home mom, as her husband George worked at Weirton Steel. Taking care of her family was her life. She cherished the time she had with them and enjoyed traveling with them into her late nineties. After her husband retired they move to Newborn NC for 22 years before returning to Weirton to be with family.She was an avid bowler, bowling a 266 to win a bowling tournament in Newborn, NC . She also enjoyed golfing and playing cards with her lady friends in bridge club. She was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Church, Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers, Legion of Mary Prayer Group and the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary. While residing in Fairfield Harbor, NC, she volunteered at the local hospital and the religious community. Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Kathleen M. Mrvos of Weirton; her sister, Frances A'Hearn of Proctor Arkansas; her daughter in law, Paula Doboski; her five grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Doboski (Tara), Sara Garber (Kalini), Stacy Armour (Rob) and Robert G. Mrvos, Jr. (Kim); seven great granddaughters, and two great grandsons. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Rev. Fr. Harry Dunn will preside. Entombment will follow at the St. Paul’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church or Valley Hospice, Inc.   2. Kathy and family: What more can I say than I am so sorry. Kathy, you and I have had discussions…you know I just loved your mom. Memories go back as far as brownies & girl scouts even! I still remember her (I think it was a wedding) ‘dancing’ like she was 40 and I believe she was almost 87+ then! What a feisty woman! You were truly blessed to have her in your life this long. She’s at peace now and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
