Larry Keith Haspel, Sr.
June 21, 1953 ~ February 19, 2022
Larry K. Haspel, Sr., of Weirton, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA., after recently becoming ill at home. He was 68 years old.
He was born on June 21, 1953, in Washington, PA. a son of the late Ernest and Jean Jackson Haspel.
Larry was a graduate of Wintersville High School and a transportation truck driver for Steel Valley Tank.
Larry’s family described him as a family-oriented diligent man with a big heart. He enjoyed all they had to offer, especially attending their events, and taking vacations with them. He was a hardworking man, a simple man, who was well respected.
Left to cherish Larry’s patient demeanor with love and admiration are his sons, Larry K. (Tammy) Haspel of Port Huron, Michigan, Michael Striffler Of Brilliant, OH., daughters Melissa (Greg) Hawkins, Tina (Joe) Mileto all of Weirton, Brittany Striffler of Brilliant, OH., grandchildren Greg and Gage Hawkins, Allison and Jacob Haspel, Tyler (Alexis) and Justin (Gabby) Riggs, Korbyn Portis, Richlynn and Brooklynn Striffler, great-grandchildren Paxton, Ezekiel, Taylen, Stella, and Julianna Riggs, brothers Ernest Haspel of Weirton and Robert Haspel of Mingo Junction, OH., and sister Linda Stewart of Weirton.
Friends will be received by Larry’s family on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 2-4 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.

My deepest condolences to the family. Larry was a kind soul, always willing to do something for a friend. I remember when we needed help moving my twins out of their dorm, and I mentioned it to him, and he promptly said, I’ll go with you guys and help out! And so he helped us more times than I can count, always with a smile, always humble and kind! Our hearts were broken to know he left this Earth so soon.
