Laurence J. Enrietti, 83, of Weirton, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born October 11, 1924 in Hollidays Cove, WV, he was the son of the late Lawrence J. and Bruna M. Zanolli Enrietti. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister in 1930. With 34 years of service, Mr. Enrietti retired from the City of Weirton where he served as Superintendent of the Water Department. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3734, American Legion Post 10, Italian Sons and Daughters of America, Weirton Elks Lodge 1801 and the St. Joseph Holy Name Society. He served on the Weirton Madonna Boosters where he volunteered his time filming the football games under Coaches Grossi, Krivak and Miller. He also volunteered transportation to and from the games for the players and cheerleaders. In recent years, Laurence attended many of the games while watching his grandson play and son-in-law coach. He was an avid photographer, enjoyed golfing and loved his model trains. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps, serving in combat as a bomber pilot during World War II. Mr. Enrietti is survived by his wife Louise C. Grossi Enrietti of Weirton whom he married August 20, 1949, daughters Linda Percival and her husband Jonah Bolt of Fairbanks, Alaska, Lauren Maslov and her husband Marc of Franklin, PA and Lisa Conti and her husband Cris of Weirton; brother Leonard M. Enrietti, and his wife Patricia of Weirton; grandchildren Jill and her husband C. Wade Harward, David Percival and his fianc Jennifer Schwiezer, Sarah and Leah Maslov and Salvador Conti and great-granddaughter Kyleigh Harward. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11AM Thursday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad.
