laurie shockley
Laurie Anne Shockley, 59, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital on February 16, 2021 after an ongoing illness. She will be missed dearly by family and friends who enjoyed her love for them and life itself. She is survived by her husband Darl Ferguson, daughter Danielle Quickle and her fiance Charles Rice, and recently born granddaughter Isabella Rice, all of Weirton. Also is survived by her father Jerry G. Jones of Weirton, brother Jim Jones of Weirton, nephew Jake Jones of Follansbee, dear friend Cheryl (Mendenhall) Radican of Hernando, MS, and "Mommy's little girl,' her feline daughter, Mira. Other family members include stepdaughter Amanda Bell and her husband Eric Bell (step grandson Draven, step granddaughter Orian, and step great grandson Emmett) of Owego, NY, stepson Matthew Katalina and his wife Angie Katalina (step grandsons Matthew and Leland) of West Palm Beach, FL, and stepson Matthew Mascioli and his wife Janet Ha (step granddaughter Jiyon) of Seoul, South Korea. She was preceded in death by her mother Joanne Jones and brother Jerry Jones. Among the things she most enjoyed in life were sports of all types, and especially the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. She certainly "Bled Black and Gold." She also loved time spent with family, friends, and her beloved Mira. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary in Weirton. Most recently, she was ecstatic for the birth of her beloved granddaughter in December 2020. Arrangements are being cared for by Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home of Weirton. In accordance with Laurie's wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of life will take place at a future date with details forthcoming. Those wishing to make a donation in her memory may to do so to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Laurie's name. Cards for the family may be addressed to Darl Ferguson, 3922 Palisades Dr., Weirton, WV 26062.
