lea foglio
Lea Ann Foglio, 39, of Weirton, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in Weirton on October 1, 1968 to Pastor James and Pinky Suica Foglio. For the past seven years, Lea served as a supervisor for Continental Express Jet at the Pittsburgh International Airport. She was a graduate of Weir High School and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. In her spare time, she enjoyed seeing all of her friends and family while putting her nail-tech degree to good use. She was a very active member of the Weirton Covenant Church, and pianist with the Covenant Praise Team. Lea was a very talented musician and with the help of others produced a CD of inspiring gospel music. There are many children playing the piano because of Lea's considerate and passionate ways. She was involved as an Amway Global Distributor and, most recently, started playing golf with her Dad. In addition to her parents, Lea is survived by her sister Marie Parker and her husband Douglas and their children Matthew, his wife Marina, Benjamin Parker and Stephanie Smith, her husband Joshua and their children Grace and Isaiah; her brother James Foglio and wife Kelly and their children Joshua, Aaron and Caleb, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Lea's family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Services will be celebrated 11AM Friday at the Weirton Covenant Church. Her father, Pastor James Foglio, will officiate. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of America, 1331 East Wyoming Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19124. Guestbook

  1. You are in our thoughts and prayers– deepest sympathy to your family– May God Bless you– We love you.

  2. Your eyes have seen now more than mine could see in a lifetime. The splendors of heaven, Angels in their majesty, Streets of gold, and the colors of all creation. You’ve heard the voices of the multitudes praising His Name. All that you lived for all the desires of your heart have been fulfilled. For that I am so thankful and overjoyed. Yet, I will miss you, a longtime friend and sister. Love always, Julie

  3. Our prayers are with all of Lea’s family and friends during this time and pray for comfort for all. This is a hard loss having known Lea for such a long time, and all of us growing up together. She will be missed greatly. My daughter looked up to her as a piano player and she was an inspiration to so many of us! “O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for You. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.” ISA 33:2

  4. (PSALM 150) Let everything that has breath… PRAISE the LORD! Let the living proclaim… Let everything that has breath… PRAISE the Lord! My Lord has put a new song in my heart! It’s a song of praise to my God! And everyone who hears it will REJOICE! Praise the Lord! This is what Lea lived for, to Praise the Lord! With every breath she had, she Praised His Name! She loved to Praise the Lord and lead others into Praise and Worship with her music, playing the piano, and keyboard! When she was not able to play she still was involved with the music in any way she could help. And now she has gone to a place where we can only dream of, a place where Praise and Worship will never end.I can see her right now, smiling, raising her hands, dancing and Praising the LORD! What a Reward for a Faithful Servant. Lea was an inspiration to all who knew her. I Love You, my dear Sister! You will be greatly missed! Praise the Lord! Our thought and prayers go out to Lea’s family and friends! May the Lord Bless you!

  50. The Lord’s work is done on earth as it is in heaven. Lea’s joyous work for the Lord is done on this physical plane of existance. Although far to soon for all who knew and loved her here on earth. We all must remember,JESUS only lends us his prescious gifts;(our loved ones) for a while. Then he calls them home once again. Thank you JESUS for the privledge of having Lea in my life as a friend, and for sharing her with everyone she touched here. Her eternal existance has now begun and if I know Lea she is eagerly awaiting her next adventure with the Lord. I know his plans for her are far grander than we can ever imagine. 52. Joe, Norma and family: Our thoughts and our prayers are with the entire Foglio family at this time. The Lord decided for whatever reason to call such a young woman to his Kingdom. For a parent, for spouse, for a child, or for a slibbling, understanding why is something hard to comprehend. Each only have solice that she is with her Lord. In Prayer in your time of grief Emily, Ted, Masha, and Denis Thorne of the Philadelphia Worldwide Team

  53. To the Foglio Family; I would like to offer my sympathy and to let you know that Lea will be truly missed. I worked with Lea when she was at PSA Airlines. I can tell you that she was one of the few people who somehow managed to make an impact on complete stangers lives! Lea had a warm smile that would bring a sense of calm amongst the chaos. I am a little amazed at the number of entries in the guestbook. Lea has touched so many of us, which has to provide some comfort to her parents, knowing that they have raised a beautiful daughter who was truly loved by all!

  54. Lea was my dear friend. It really does not help, but I give you my most heartfelt sympathy. I know your grief goes beyond what words can express. There is nothing anyone can say to heal your broken heart or take your pain away but I know with all of my heart that God has taken all of you in His arms and covered you with His love. He knows the depth of your grief and He will give you peace. He knows it will take time for your heart to heal and I know that Lea is in a home filled with bliss. There are no tears in Heaven, no more heartache and no pain – only love and happiness. As best we can, we must hang on to this. My love to all of you.

  55. Lea is now home in Heaven and every time the sun shines I will know that she is looking down on all of us and smiling. She always could light up a room with that smile and that will be my fondest memery of Lea. I use to work with Lea at Continental and it was always a joy to know she was on the same shift as myself. 61. Jimmy,Pinky, and all the Foglios. Although we have all moved so far away over the years, times like these bring our hearts back together. Please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of Leah. It is hard to think positively at a time like this, but, remember, It is better to have shared the time you had with Leah than to have never known her at all.

  62. As a follower of Christ, we know that Lea is not dead; she has only gone home. God had a purpose for her being here and she has completed that task. I have also found that God uses the passing of our loved ones to attain yet another goal. Usually, it is to bring someone back to the family, or to strengthen relationships that have been strained. But always remember that though her body was broken, she is now whole and made perfect and home with the Lord. Her pain and her sorrows are gone forever. Thank God that we got to know her, and that we got to know her family. My heart cries for your loss, but cheers for joy in her gain. Jeff Dante

  84. My prayers and thoughts are with the Foglio Family in this time of sorrow. I met Lea and his loving family over 20 years ago, and I loved all of them since the very first day. I sincerely hope that the grace of Our Lord brings you and your family fortitude, hope and comfort during this time of sadness. With deepest sympathy and love.

  87. Once again, I cannot believe this day is here already. I think about Lea every day & miss her terribly. My loving thoughts go to Jim & Pinky.

  88. Yes, Jesus did weep, but why? Because it is accorded to man to die once, So His friend wasn’t dead, but asleep, Lea is asleep and she doesn’t know that she is asleep,we know but she doesn’t.When Jesus calls the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall meet with them in the sky,in a twinkling of an eye,she won’t even realize that we were parted. Please lay down the old catholic way of thinking where our loved ones are watching over us,it just ain’t so. Lay down your manmade books and throw away that phony doctorate, sell your fancy planes and hate yourself and follow Him.
