Lea Ann Foglio
October 1, 1968 ~ February 11, 2008
Lea Ann Foglio, 39, of Weirton, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in Weirton on October 1, 1968 to Pastor James and Pinky Suica Foglio.
For the past seven years, Lea served as a supervisor for Continental Express Jet at the Pittsburgh International Airport. She was a graduate of Weir High School and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. In her spare time, she enjoyed seeing all of her friends and family while putting her nail-tech degree to good use. She was a very active member of the Weirton Covenant Church, and pianist with the Covenant Praise Team. Lea was a very talented musician and with the help of others produced a CD of inspiring gospel music. There are many children playing the piano because of Lea's considerate and passionate ways. She was involved as an Amway Global Distributor and, most recently, started playing golf with her Dad.
In addition to her parents, Lea is survived by her sister Marie Parker and her husband Douglas and their children Matthew, his wife Marina, Benjamin Parker and Stephanie Smith, her husband Joshua and their children Grace and Isaiah; her brother James Foglio and wife Kelly and their children Joshua, Aaron and Caleb, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Lea's family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Services will be celebrated 11AM Friday at the Weirton Covenant Church. Her father, Pastor James Foglio, will officiate. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.

It’s a song of praise to my God! And everyone who hears it will REJOICE! Praise the Lord! This is what Lea lived for, to Praise the Lord! With every breath she had, she Praised His Name! She loved to Praise the Lord and lead others into Praise and Worship with her music, playing the piano, and keyboard! When she was not able to play she still was involved with the music in any way she could help. And now she has gone to a place where we can only dream of, a place where Praise and Worship will never end.I can see her right now, smiling, raising her hands,dancing and Praising the LORD! Lea was a good friend to me during high school and we had really good times together. It is unfortunate that we lost touch over the years. Loss of a loved one is never easy, but especially someone so young. My prayers go out to her family and friends. My memories of Lea are of her smile, her sense of humor, and her kindness. Dear Foglio Family, I can just imagine Lea now playing the piano while David Barr sings, praising Jesus. What a wonderful thought! Lea was someone to look up to, and was used as role model for me as I grew up. She never wavered in her love for the Lord and always honored her parents. I don’t even know how to put into words how I feel, but Aunt Lea was the best aunt/friend anyone could have. She was always there to talk to about anything at all or when I would just need to borrow some shoes or jewlery. I really looked up to her and loved her, I definately miss her so much.

The Lord’s work is done on earth as it is in heaven. Lea’s joyous work for the Lord is done on this physical plane of existance. Although far to soon for all who knew and loved her here on earth. Lea was my dear friend. It really does not help, but I give you my most heartfelt sympathy. I know your grief goes beyond what words can express. There is nothing anyone can say to heal your broken heart or take your pain away but I know with all of my heart that God has taken all of you in His arms and covered you with His love. He knows the depth of your grief and He will give you peace. He knows it will take time for your heart to heal and I know that Lea is in a home filled with bliss. There are no tears in Heaven, no more heartache and no pain – only love and happiness. As best we can, we must hang on to this. My love to all of you.
Lea is now home in Heaven and every time the sun shines I will know that she is looking down on all of us and smiling. She always could light up a room with that smile and that will be my fondest memery of Lea. I use to work with Lea at Continental and it was always a joy to know she was on the same shift as myself. She made it nice and fun to be at work. Lea will truly be missed by all who know her.

It is hard to think positively at a time like this, but, remember, It is better to have shared the time you had with Leah than to have never known her at all.
As a follower of Christ, we know that Lea is not dead; she has only gone home. God had a purpose for her being here and she has completed that task. I have also found that God uses the passing of our loved ones to attain yet another goal. Usually, it is to bring someone back to the family, or to strengthen relationships that have been strained. But always remember that though her body was broken, she is now whole and made perfect and home with the Lord. Her pain and her sorrows are gone forever. Lea was a long time friend of mine and was one of the nicest and decent people I’ve ever met. She (tried) taught me alot about religion and how to be a better person. I’m glad to have known her and very glad to have shared in her life and hopefully some of her teachings took root in me and I’ll see her beautiful smile again someday.

So sorry to hear about Lea’s passing and the illness she went through. We have been keeping her and your family in our prayers weekly at St. Paul’s Music Ministry. Once again, I cannot believe this day is here already. I think about Lea every day & miss her terribly. My loving thoughts go to Jim & Pinky.
Yes, Jesus did weep,but why? Because it is accorded to man to die once, So His friend wasn’t dead,but asleep, Lea is asleep and she doesn’t know that she is asleep,we know but she doesn’t.When Jesus calls the dead in Christ shall rise first,then we which are alive and remain shall meet with them in the sky,in a twinkling of an eye,she won’t even realize that we were parted. Please lay down the old catholic way of thinking where our loved ones are watching over us,it just ain’t so. Lay down your manmade books and throw away that phony doctorate,sell your fancy planes and hate yourself and follow Him.
