  1. It was great growing up in Greenlawn, and having you as a role model. I liked when I came to the house recently to help with the T.V. stand that you and John were working on already. I know you are in heaven .

  2. We realize that the last several months have not been easy for any of you. We admire Mr. D’s courage and the support you have given him through his recent struggles. We want you to know that you are all very special to us and if there is anything that we can do to help you through each day, please know that we are here for you. With our love and sympathy, Bill, Tink, Justin and Megan

  14. My heart is broken once again. I loved uncle Lenny so very much, how his cheeks would squish up and his eyes would squint down as he smiled at all my stupid jokes! He welcomed me into his home and treated me like one of his sons. I admired him as a husband, father, and craftsman. I learned many things from him by just watching. Uncle Lenny’s heart was full of compassion, and it showed brightly in his boyish-angelic face. I can’t wait for him to show me the house Jesus has prepared for him! 31 years ago when Vicki and I started dating, she asked me to come to Weirton to meet her family. Little did I know I would be meeting my family! As I said at Vicki’s graveside service, I am proud to be part of your wonderful family. Vicki loved her uncle Lenny more than words could say. I am sure they are sitting together talking about all of us at this moment. God bless you Uncle Lenny please don’t build anything until I get there, so I can sit at your side and watch. All my love, Rob.

  15. My name is Garrett Goll and I only met Uncle Lenny one time. But I have known Cat and knew Vicki for over 20 years and heard so much about him. When I did carpentry with Cat when I worked for him there were several times he spoke of Uncle Lenny and how he might fix the problem. I will keep your family in my prayers and I wish nothing but safety and peace on all of you. Sincerely, Garrett Goll.

  16. My deepest sympathy to the lovely family of Mr. Dankovchik. I had the pleasure of growing up only a few doors down and my memory of him will always be that of respect and gratitude for all that he stood for.

  17. I am so happy to have seen you one last time; but I will always have the happy memories of tearing around your house while you chuckled at us silly kids. I love you and will miss you.

  18. Dear Joann and Family Our hearts go out to you on Lenny’s passing. I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Lenny in the wiregang at Weirton Steel. He was a first-class guy and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

  19. I have so many fond memories of Uncle Len! I think my all time favorite was when we were children and the whole clan of us went on vacation together to Lake Erie. We all laughed so hard after leaving McDonald’s when Uncle Len announced that they were going to have to change the sign of the “millions served”! I also loved all the Serbian Christmas’s that we spent at his house, roasting pig and just being a family. He always had such an easy, lovable way about himself; a joy to be around. I always looked up to him with great admiration. He will indeed be deeply missed.

  20. Hello Lenny, So sad to read about the loss of your father. Our parents kept a watchful eye over us as we roamed from Belair and Broadview to Greenland Estates. We grew up together in the safety of the world they created around us. May God rest his soul and may your fond memories of your Dad sustain you at his passing. God bless your family.
