Leota Mae Stoica of Weirton passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. She was 72. Leota was born on June 12, 1948, in New Manchester, WV, the youngest of three children born to Arthur “Speed” and Goldie V. Nuzum Crawford. Lee graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1966 and furthered her education in Wheeling, WV, to become a hairstylist. Lee was a homemaker most of her life, and she also worked outside her home at Denmark’s, Stone & Thomas, and Weirton Steel. She enjoyed making crafts and traveling to Las Vegas, but nothing compared to the times she cherished with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lee nourished her faith at the First Christian Church in Weirton. In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Ambrose. She will be remembered with love by her husband, John “Toby” Stoica, her daughters, Shelley (Mike) Zelechowski, Stephanie (Brian) Blocker; and Sonja (Mike) Locke-Boswell; her grandchildren, Chase and Jonas Zelechowski, Saleh and Jax Crawford, Devon Rocchio, and Bobbi Locke; and her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Scarlett, Teddi Jo, and Annalee. Lee’s wishes were to have her body donated to the West Virginia Human Gift Registry. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the First Christian Church 3252 Main Street Weirton, WV 26062.
