
Lester K. Chilcote
October 2, 1925 ~ April 14, 2015
Lester K. "Chilly" Chilcote, 89, of Weirton, went home to be with his heavenly Father on April 14, 2015. He was born Oct. 2, 1925 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Rev. Thomas F. and Emma J. (Peters) Chilcote.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Lawrence, Rev. Virgil, Rev. Thomas and Russell Chilcote and sister Emily Arbuckle.
Lester served as a merchant marine during WWII and the Korean War. He worked as a foreman for the electrical gang of Weirton Steel for 38 years, retiring on Dec. 31, 1988. He enjoyed working on various projects around the house, riding his lawn tractor and taking rides on his motorcycle almost every day of the year.
He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Weirton, where he sang in the choir. He was a gifted musician from a very young age and enjoyed playing the organ. He was also a member of the WSX choir and the WSX/25 year club.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alberta (Griffith) Chilcote, whom he married on March 30, 1952, his children Charlene L. (Scott) Lilly of Weirton and Kenneth A. (P.J.) Chilcote of Bakersfield, CA., grandchildren Guido S. Magnone, Melissa McCombs, Sgt. Michael Chilcote, Danny Holmes, and Marty Marlin, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until the time of Funeral Services at 12 noon on Friday April 24, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, 3301 West Street, Weirton, WV. Pastor Tim Conrad will officiate.

This man was the best grandfather any grandson/granddaughter could have I’ve learned so much from my pap pap he along with the rest of my family taught me to treat people with respect and honor those who have been in my life. I’m never going to forget you pap pap I love you always and I will never let you.down I promise.
My dear sweet daddy I love you soon very much. You were always there for me I miss you terribly You are home now. I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER
