Louis J. Pete 69, of Weirton, died November 11, 2000, at his residence. He was born December 12, 1930 in Weirton, the son of the late Tony and Maria Paolo Pete. He was also preceeded in death by a son, Louis Anthony Pete, one brother Patsy Pete, three sisters, Mary Pietranton, Angeline DeGuzzo and Rose Warrick. He was retired from Weirton Steel Co, where he worked in the Blast Furnace Department as a pipefitter wth 38 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Pleasant Valley Country Club, Weirton Steel 25 year club, and the Senior Citizens Center in Weirton. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran. Surviving are his wife, Dolores Poprik Pete, one son Gary Pete of Pittsburgh, Pa. Two brothers Dominic and John Pete, one sister Minnie Pete all of Weirton. Calling hours are from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV. A prayer service will be held Monday afternoon at 3:30PM in the funeral home. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10:00AM, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Weirton. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church, 229 California Ave, Weirton, or Valley Hospice, 380 Summit Ave., Steubenville, Ohio.   1. When I first came to the Blast Furnace about 10 years ago, I met Louie. I have learned a lot from him and will miss seeing him at the Blast Furnace parties. He was always cheerful and very helpful and I will miss him. I’ll never forget how good he was at working crossword puzzles.
