Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Luther was an good friend. We were talking not long ago about the old days at Ponderosa Park. We were planning to try to get everyone together for a reunion. I’m sorry Luther won’t be able to make it.

  2. REXENNA, I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS..MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU AS YOU GRIEVE….MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.

  3. As one of Luther’s tentmates in Viet Nam I am very saddened of his passing. After 39 years,we were able to get together in August for a visit in New Lex,Oh. I will cherish that day for the rest of my life. God Bless to all his family and friends.

  4. Luther spent a great deal of time remembering those that didn’t come home. We will always remember him, as well. Rex, our hearts are full of admiration for all you both did with the candle-light vigil for the POW/MIA’s. We will never forget either of you. God bless you.

  5. Luther was one of those people you meet in life who make a profound impression. We were tentmates in Vietnam and I haven’t seen him in forty years, yet if I close my eyes I can see him as clear as day. A great guy who will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

  6. So sorry to hear of your loss, Rex. I don’t know if you remember me. “Crazy Mary” who went with Lee Apitzch, (after Jackie) (before Renee). I lost my husband 3 years ago. I think I did e-mail you guys once, since I’ve been down here. God Bless you. You were so good for each other. Love & Prayers, Mary

  7. Words cannot describe the way I feel about Luther. He was my neighbor in childhood and a really good friend in my adult life. We did a lot of POW-MIA vigils together since the dedication of the Viet Nam Veterans’ Memorial in Washington, D.C. Luther’s deter-mination to do all he could for the veterans and POW-MIAs will always be remembered as will the great man himself. Rex, I am very sorry for your loss. Luther will always be in our hearts and our thoughts as will you. Please, let us know if there is anything we can do to help you in this sad time.

  8. I am very sad and shocked–i remember “Sonny” from weirton jct-he lived at underpass and i lived at the big curve–always a very nice & friendly person please accept my sincere sympathy to all of his family–Marg Corbin

  9. hi, rex its susie sorry to here about luther(sonny) to bad we didnt make up if you want give me a call 1-814-778-5372

  10. Rex, Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. Luther will never be forgotten in our hearts. He was a great man and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

  11. Rex, I am deeply saddened to hear of Luther’s passing. I knew him only briefly, yet I feel like he was a long time friend. I know that he certainly was that, and so much more to you. Your support and devotion to him as he fought this last battle was inspirational, and he was bleseed to have had you by his side. He has taken the final journey that we all must embrace prior to you, and it’s hard to know why. Perhaps God, in His infinate wisdom, knew that Luther wouldn’t want to live without you. Take comfort in the love and prayers from all of those who knew him and loved him.

  12. Rex, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Jonesy. I want to tell you that it was a honor and a blessing to have known him for all the years that I have. God works in ways that sometimes we don’t understand. The Lord gave you both the opportunity to love each other and to know what love is. He loved you with all his being and that is more then some of us ever get to know. Depend on the Lord and He will get you thru this. Your friend always Gwen

  13. Carol; I don’t know where you are but I hope you get this. I am so sorry of your brothers passing. I did not know his wife but I knew you and Luther 35 years ago. Agnes Lemasters and I were talking and we both described you to a tee and Luther!!!You have both of our condolences. If you get this please give me a call, 723-3231 just to talk.
