Mabel (Gaston) Smearman

Mabel (Gaston) Smearman, 89, of Weirton, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at her residence. She was born September 5, 1915 in Salem, WV, a daughter of the late Harvey and Louie O. Nutter Steele. Mabel was also preceded in death by her first husband James F. Gaston and second husband Luther O. Smearman; three infant children; her brother Burton Waltham and one granddaughter.
Mabel was a homemaker and a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Weirton.
She is survived by her son Dale Gaston and his wife Dorene of Weirton; daughters Jean Ford and her husband Austin of Salem, WV and Deloris Ashcraft of Weirton; stepson Ronald L. Smearman and his wife Becky of Wellsburg; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1-3 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Monday from 10AM until the 11AM funeral services at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church with Reverend Raymond Draa presiding. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
