mabel fabianich
Mabel Marcella Fabianich, 82, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born June 22, 1925 in Follansbee, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Dawson Ott. Mabel was also preceded in death by her brothers Frances, Jim and Clarence Ott. Mabel was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She is survived by her husband Joseph Fabianich whom she married September 16, 1950; daughter Terry Stemple and her husband Ed; sister Katherine Ott; and, grandson Justin Stemple, all of Weirton. Mabel was a source of support and encouragement to her family and took pride in their accomplishments. In return, she received the love and devotion of not only her family, but her friends as well. She laughed easily and brought joy to many. Mabel was a true friend – honest, loyal, loving and accepting of all, and her friends grieve for her passing, even as they are grateful for her presence in their lives. A shy child who blossomed in her adult years, Mabel was able to find commonality with everyone she met. She mentioned on more than one occasion that she once aspired to be a newspaper reporter and her family and friends can attest to the fact that she would have been a great one with her natural storytelling talents. A woman of strength and character, as Mabel suffered in her final weeks, many nurses commented about her remarkable strength and the smile she had for everyone. A member of Cove Presbyterian Church, Mabel’s source of strength stemmed from her deep faith in God, and she found comfort in knowing that angels are among us to help us weather life’s difficulties and disappointments. Anyone who encountered Mabel quickly learned of her deep devotion to God and her love of His angels. Her devotion never wavered, even during the difficult times toward the end. And so to the last, Mabel, by example, taught her family and friends to have faith, to be courageous, and to trust in the Lord as she herself did. For all the lessons she taught, and the joy the she brought into the lives of those who loved her and whom she loved, Mabel will be sadly missed not only by her family and friends, but also by the family pets who adored her and whom she loved. There will be private visitation for the family and friends of Mabel. Funeral services will be conducted 1PM Friday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton with Reverend Ed Rudiger presiding. Entombment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Cove Presbyterian Church, 3404 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062. Funeral Home: Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV US 26062
