Madeline L. Gurrera, 88, of Weirton, passed away at her son’s home with her family at her side on Thursday, December 7, 2017. She was born April 4, 1929 in Naples, Italy, a daughter of the late Cosmo and Maria G. Geramia DiLullo. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Nikki Jean Butto, great-grandson Gary Vincent Pim, brothers Patsy and Angelo DiLullo and sister Vittoria Proetti. Madeline was a homemaker who worked as a laundry supervisor for 17 years. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and was the State First Lady of the Elks. Madeline’s main focus was her family. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family and attending all of the events that involved her children or grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Vincent Gurrera whom she married July 21, 1961; sons Vince and Joe Gurrera both of Weirton; daughters Debi (Lou) Yakunich of Summerville, SC and Lisa (Gary) Reitter of Weirton; son in law Nick Butto of Weirton; brother Matthew (Nancy) DiLullo of Oldsmar, FL; grandchildren Luke Yakunich, Jennifer (Mira) Aboussaad, Darcy Zorbini, Michael (Mary) Butto, Heather (Jason Randalson) Gurrera, Emily, Anthony and Angelo Gurrera and 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Larry Dorsch will officiate. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Christian Mothers, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
