  3. What a precious man and preacher of the Word. I value highly the time I spent with the Shorts in Weirton, West Virginia serving the soldiers of that wonderful corps. His compassion and love lives on in the lives of his two precious daughters, one of which is a sessionmate of mine. Be assured of my love and prayers for all the family during these difficult days!

  4. Your father, was a great man of God. His goal in life was to bring others into a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior. He did just that, and now he is sitting at the feet of Jesus. Butch and I and the children are praying for you, and thinking of you during this time. May God’s arms surround you, and fill you with his peace. God’s blessings, Butch and Carolyn

  5. There is a human bond that connects us all. It may be like a delicate thread, but in special times it becomes like a line of steel that helps bind us with one another. This strand makes our sorrows more bearable, and in the long run that is what really matters. Your Dad will be missed by you and the family and friends, but the thread of our human bonds will always keep some part of him with you. I hope it will be an added source of comfort to you at this time of grief to know that others care.

  6. Just wanted you to know you are in my prayers as you go through the loss of your husband, father, and grandfather. I know how precious he was to you and pray that God will give you the peace and comfort you need during this time. Sheila

  9. Our hope and comfort comes from knowing that we will see Earl Short and all our loved ones who know Jesus as Saviour. We love you and are strengthened by your continual witness and labor in Weirton. Hold fast to His hand and allow Him to wrap His arms of love around you as you walk through this valley of sorrow. We are praying for you.

  10. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of grief. Although we grieve we can also rejoice that we know where Major Short is right now and that he is rejoicing with his Lord.

  11. God has called another Angel home. It is hard to let the ones we love go, but I know you have God’s wonderful peace in knowing that Major Short is at home with our Heavenly Father. May God continue to Bless and Comfort you as you mourn the loss of the one you love so much. You are in my prayers. Sandra Davis

  12. Precious memories – how they linger! I thank God for the memories that I have of the dear Major through the years. Memories of his love for God, for God’s word. Memories of his love for his precious wife, Nellie. To visit with them both and to see the love that they shared through the years. Memories of his love for his family…his two daughters and sons (in love) who have been such wonderful caregivers during the past few years because of declining health. Memories of his love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren and the love that they had for him. Please know that your extended family continues to lift you in our daily thoughts and prayers during this time. Remember that the same arms that now embrace your loved one is also reaching out to embrace you now with His comfort. I thank God for his life and ministry. Blessings and prayers Hilda Howell
