Margaret Ann Harbert of Weirton passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. She was 85 years old. She was born in Steubenville, OH on July 27, 1936, a daughter of Frank and Anne Verona Dasta. In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell D. Harbert on December 23, 2014. Margaret and Russell were inseparable from the first time they met at the GC Murphy store. They were head over heels in love and were married on Margaret’s 21st birthday, July 27, 1957. They were blessed with five children. Margaret was a proud homemaker and enjoyed traveling, sharing her quick wit and dry sense of humor with everyone she met. She was known by all as being smart as a whip. In her spare time, she also enjoyed polka dancing, watching tv sitcoms, reading, and tinkering with flowers. Margaret was also a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Weirton and the Weirton Senior Citizen’s Center. Margaret is survived by three sons; Bob and Chuck Harbert and Tom (Holly) Harbert; two daughters, Cathy Harbert, and Theresa Harbert; a brother, Joe (Desma) Dasta; a sister, Frances Muni; eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 1-3 PM on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, until the 3 PM Liturgy of the Word Service. Fr. Binu Sebastian will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.

The Harbert house was often the center of all the fun us kids were having playing outside in front of the Harbert Home on Elk Street. I will cherish ALL the fond memories.
