margaret ellis heaton
Margaret Ellis Heaton, 95, of Weirton, WV, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born November 8, 1920 in Weirton, WV, Margaret was a daughter of the late Paul and Julia Mihaly Ellis (Illy'es). She was also preceded in death by her husband, David M. Heaton in 1985; brothers, Stephen, Paul, and Andrew Ellis; sisters, Anna Strauss Dory, Esther Orris Taurianinen, and Julia Efthimiu Hudak Portzer. Margaret and David were married on August 16, 1941and resided in Weirton where they raised their family. Margaret's joys in life were homemaking, genealogy, outdoor gardening, and she excelled in cooking and baking. She was Presbyterian by faith and a past member of the Jefferson County Chapter, OGS where she documented her European ancestors back into the late 1700s. Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory - her sons, David P. Heaton of Yuma, AZ, and Craig C. Heaton of Springfield, OR; daughter, Julia A. (David) Krutilla of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Scott C. Heaton, Belinda A. (David) Waterman, Kendra A. (John) Copley, and Garrett R. (Lena) Krutilla; great grandchildren, Makayla A. Copley, Madelyn G. Copley, and Andrew R. Krutilla; and niece, Susan Hudak O'Neill. Margaret's family would like to acknowledge the dedication in care and love that the Weirton Geriatric Center and Valley Hospice provided to her. Contributions in memory of Margaret should be made to the Weirton Christian Center, 3012 Elm Street, Weirton, WV 26062. In keeping with Margaret's wishes, private funeral services along with private burial in Paris Cemetery, Paris, PA have been entrusted to Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
