Margaret Pinter DiClemente, beloved wife and mother, passed away at the age of 101 on July 17, 2020, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on May 23, 1919 in Wheeling, West Virginia, Marge was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Marco) Pinter. After graduating from Wheeling High School in 1937, Marg married Dominick DiClemente (deceased November 4, 2006), on October 13, 1945. They were blessed with two children, John DiClemente (Gwynne Kennedy) and Lyn DiClemente, and three grandchildren, Will DiClemente, Brendan Boyer and Carey Boyer. A talented classically trained vocalist, Marg frequently sang at area churches and regularly performed as Peggie Pinter and the Pepper-Uppers on the “It's Wheeling Steel” radio musical variety program in the 1930s. She also worked for Traveler’s Insurance for 15 years. A resident of Weirton, West Virginia since 1960, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and served as its choir director for more than 30 years. Marg actively volunteered until she was 95 years old through numerous organizations, including the Weirton Women's Club and Weirton Hospital Auxiliary, bringing the joy of music to many. She was selected Volunteer of the Year in 2012 by the West Virginia Hospital Association for her work with the Weirton Medical Center's Skilled Care floor, and in 2015 she was named the Valiant Woman of the Year by the Weirton Chapter of Church Women United. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 10-11:30AM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. A 12 noon committal service officiated by The Reverend Michael Heckathorn will follow at the Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV. Facial masks will be required and social distancing will be observed at the visitation and the committal service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary, 601 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV 26062, or Trinity Lutheran Church, 3432 West St., Weirton, WV 26062.

  2. Lyn and John, I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Margies passing. Our hearts go out to you both. Aunt Margie was one of my favorites and she was so fortunate to live such a long life. Lyn and John you were lucky to be so close to her these last few years! Now she can reunite with my mom and her sibs and parents in her afterlife. Hope you are all well during these crazy times.
