Maria Magnone

Maria Magnone, 95, of Follansbee, formerly of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in the Brightwood Nursing Center in Follansbee. Born May 18, 1917 in Montalto Uffugo, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Carmela Perrone Stella. She was also preceded in death by her husband Bonaventura Magone on December 14, 1995.
Mrs. Magnone was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Maria dearly loved her grandchildren and was so proud of their accomplishments.
Maria is survived by her sons Sergio (Joanna) Magnone of Italy, Leo, Giuseppe and Tony (Linda) Magnone all of Weirton; daughters Anna (Tracy) Champ of Moneta, VA and Patty (Howard) Shields; brother Medoro Stella; sister Ida Veltri all of Weirton; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 3-7PM Thursday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Manuel Gelido officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
