Marie Kamarec, 87, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 in the Laurels of Steubenville. Born February 2, 1924 in Toronto, OH, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mina Widger Reed. She was also preceded in death by her husband Andrew Kamarec, brothers Charles, James, George William and Robert Reed and sister Kathleen Ahiolas.
Mrs. Kamarec was a homemaker and Presbyterian by faith.
Marie is survived by her son Andrew Kamarec and his wife Cara of Weirton; daughters Carolyn Zablackas and her husband Frank of Weirton and Christine Lewis and her husband Kenny of California; 7 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be celebrated 11AM Monday. The Reverend Larry E. Barkley will officiate. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Weirton.
Grandma, we loved you very much and you will be surely missed. The kids and us send our condolences and are heartbroken we cannot be there.
