Marion Goffoli, 88, of Weirton, WV died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at the Weirton Medical Center. Marion was born on March 24, 1914, in Hanlin Station, PA, the son of the late Benjamin and Josephine Ranallo Goffoli. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Loughhead Goffoli, in 1993; a son, George Jerry Goffoli; a daughter, Lorraine Denese Goffoli; four brothers, Jack, July, Joseph, Christopher; three sisters, Elizabeth, Rosie and Mary. Marion retired after 43 years from Weirton Steel, where he worked in the Boiler House, car repair and 14 years for the Fire Department. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 year club, past member of the K of C 3734, longest living member of the Weirton Heights Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Honorary Life Chief and called bingo for many years. His son, Thomas G. Goffoli and his daughter, Mary Ann Malis, both of Weirton, WV, survive. His two sisters, Edna Gallo of Weirton, WV and Jenny Chester of Monessen, PA; his four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, also survive. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Weirton Heights Volunteer Fire Department, Company 3, P.O. Box 2432Weirton, WV, 26062.
