marshall moser
Marshall C. Moser, 87, of Weirton, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 4, 2009, in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born October 2, 1921 in Sweetwater, TN, he was the son of the late Marshall and Cora Sledge Moser. He was also preceded in death by his wife Helen in 2003, daughters Vivian Settle, Norma Buchanan and Theresa Wade; brothers Thurston, Ronald and Donald Moser and sisters Gena Mae Davis, Iva Lee Arwood and Eloise Williams. In 1984, after 35 years of service, Mr. Moser retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel where he worked as a rail car operator. He was a member of the Northside Church of God and the Wheeling-Pittsburgh 25-Year Club. He served in the US Army 711 Tank Battalion during World War II. Mr. Moser is survived by his sons Pastor Curtis K. Moser and his wife Brenda and Timothy R. Moser; daughters Sharon Kolar and her husband Charles, Patricia G. Moser all of Weirton and Janice Klash and her husband Duane of Seven Valleys, PA; brother Frank Moser; sister Lilly Inez Davis both of Sweetwater, TN; 7 grandchildren, Jacob, Danny, Neil, Angie, Derek, Lori and Shannan and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday 6-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:30 until the 11:30AM funeral services at the Northside Church of God, 128 Era Street, Weirton. Pastor David Shreve will officiate. Interment will be in Paris Cemetery, Paris, PA where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad and Weirton Honor Guard.
