Mary Elizabeth Barnabei, 87, of Weirton died Sunday Morning, at the Weirton Medical Center. Born on March 1, 1925, in Dennison, OH, Mary was a daughter of the late Domenico and Anna Frances DiBernardi Barnabei. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Chester and Anthony Barnabei. Mary worked as a switchboard operator for Starvaggi Industries for 39 years. She was an avid bowler, who bowled locally as well as in many tournaments throughout the United States. Mary was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her special friend of 55 years, George Veselica, of Weirton; a brother, Fred Barnabei of Weirton; and three sisters, Emma Barnabei and Lillian Ruszkowski and Anna Pate all of Weirton, WV; She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, who were like her children. Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering at 4 PM until time of Memorial Mass which will be celebrated 5 PM Thursday, at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Rev. Larry Dorsch will preside. Interment will be in the Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens.
