Mary Korzi Majoris, 84, a resident of Weirton and formerly of Windber, PA, died Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born in Demjata, Slovakia on May 1, 1920, the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Lipka) Korzi. She spent her early life in Windber, PA where she met her future husband John L. Majoris, who she married on November 18, 1940. They then moved to Weirton and had lived there for the past 57 years. They celebrated their 63 Wedding Anniversary last year. Mary was a devoted parishioner and active member of St. Paul the Roman Catholic Church throughout her life as a member of the Christian Mothers Association, the Legion of Mary, and the Altar Society. In her latter capacity, she used her seamstress talent in repairing priestly vestments, making altar cloths, and laundering and ironing them. For a long time, she cleaned the St. Paul’s Elementary School Chapel and later, the small first floor chapel in St. Paul’s Church. Preceding in death, besides her parents, was a brother, Andrew J. Korzi, Jr. of Bergenfield, N.J. Mary is survived by her husband, John Majoris who is a retired foreman of Weirton Steel; and a brother, John R. Korzi of Steubenville. Mary has a daughter, Rose Marie (Jerry) Parks of Washington, PA.; two sons, Richard (Fran) of Weirton and Gregory (Bonnie) of Toronto, OH. Her two grandchildren are Todd Majoris of Follansbee, WV and Darcee (Donald) Groves and one great grandchild Shaylee Groves of Weirton. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and faith. Visitation will be Sunday, February 20, 2005 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street , Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Paul the Roman Catholic Church, Weirton, with Msgr. Patrick Fryer as celebrant.   1. Dearest rick and greg we are so sorry to hear about mary. She was a wonderful lady and i have fond memories of her. I have one of her favorite bells that she gave me in my kitchen hutch.   3. We are sorry we couldn’t be there in person to share in your sorrow. The weather prevented us from going. We were all packed and were hoping that the weather would clear up. My mother feel really upset that she couldn’t be there in person. We have very fond memories of Mary. We were glad that we saw Aunt Mary and Uncle Johnny last June. Mary will be in our prayers.
