Mary Jane Billcheck

Mary Jane Billcheck, 85, of Weirton, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019, in the Weirton Medical Center. The daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Malega Derosky, Mary Jane was born July 27, 1933 in Holliday’s Cove, WV. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick George Billcheck in 2002. Prior to her marriage, Mary Jane worked for Weirton Steel for 5 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, where she enjoyed volunteering her time baking and cooking in the church hall. Mary Jane is survived by her son, David A. Billcheck; daughters Julie (Dave) Guglielmo and Susan (Roger) Kirkpatrick all of Weirton and brother Paul (Eleanor) Derosky of Toronto, OH. Friends will be received Thursday 3 -7 PM at the at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where Parastas services will be held at 5 PM. Final Blessing will be held 9:30 AM Friday in the funeral home followed by the 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Vasyl Simeon will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mary’s Byzantine Church or to the Hancock County Animal Shelter.
