Mary Jane Henrietta DiGiovanni, 88, of Weirton passed away Monday April 5, 2010 at D & D Quality Care. Mary Jane was born on September 14, 1921 in Cecil, PA, a daughter of the late Sidney Isadore and Mary Spencer Monseau. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Anthony DiGiovanni on January 1, 2000, brother, Albert Monseau, sisters, Alberta Mecannic, Isabelle Bates, Blanche Brestle and Katherine Craig. A homemaker who enjoyed sewing and planting flowers, Mrs. DiGiovanni worked as a tin flopper with the Weirton Steel Corporation during World War II. Mary Jane was a member of the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Joanne and Gary Wasmer and Mary and William Wasmer all of Weirton, WV; a brother Isadore Monseau of Paris, PA; sisters, Donna Baker of Chester, WV and Delores Baker of Frankfort Springs, PA; three grandchildren, Justin and Megan Wasmer, and Tracy Rocknich and one great grandson, Nickolas Rocknich. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Thursday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. The Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will preside. Interment will follow at the Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, Northern Regional Office, 1299 Pineview Drive, Suite 3, Morgantown, WV 26505.
