Mary Vento Lamalfa

Mary Vento Lamalfa, 92, of Weirton, died Friday, June 27, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born January 11, 1911 in Messina, Italy, daughter of the late Frank and Domicinna Mioranna Vento. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband Saverio “Sam” Lamalfa on May 19, 1982; brother, Santo Vento; and sister, Nina Vento. Mary was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church where she also served as a member of the Christian Mothers. She is survived by four daughters, Agnes Watt and her husband William, Thelma Kittle and her husband Charles, Marie Rostic, all of Weirton, and Josephine Antlake and her husband John of Wheeling, WV; 4 grandchildren, Mary Ann Basconi and her husband Jerry of Houston, TX, Gary Paul Rostic and his wife Kelly of Ozark, MO, William Samuel Watt and his wife Diane of Wellsburg, WV, and Margaret Ann Kittle of Weirton; and 7 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a prayer service will be held at 7 PM Monday. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Tuesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be at St. Paul Cemetery.
