medoro stella
Medoro Stella 92, of Weirton, WV died peacefully at Weirton Medical Center Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Medoro was born in Italy the youngest of eleven children. He was the son of Guido and Carmela Stella of Belmonte Calabria. He met his beloved wife late Flora Stella in Belmonte and they had two children together. He immigrated to the U.S in 1971 followed by his wife and children a year later where they settled in Weirton, West Virginia. He became a certified welder and was employed by Starvaggi Industries until his retirement. He also had his own business in Lawnmower Repair and Sales, which he loved and always said he made new and wonderful friends. Medoro and Flora raised two children, Gracie (Frank) Corona, of Weirton, and Aurelio Stella of Michigan. He was blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Isabel, and Nicholas Stella from Michigan. Medoro and Flora were extremely hard workers, and with complete dedication to their children and home. They took great pride in providing beautiful fruit, flower, and vegetable gardens, homemade wines, breads, and everything else they could make from scratch. Their mission in life was to secure a beautiful, loving, safe, and happy home full of memories for their cherished children and family. Medoro loved cooking and creating his own dishes, he was a huge history, and Greek mythology buff, and loved writing poetry, all of which have been safely cherished. He was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America, as well as an early member of the Garibaldi Club. He will be greatly missed, and the memories of Medoro and Flora’s love will live within our hearts forever. Due to Covid 19, visitation, and service will be limited to immediate family only at Greco- Hertnick Funeral Home, followed by a private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Medoro’s name to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children Hospital, or St. Paul Church (Weirton) are suggested and appreciated.
