Michael C. Burdette

Michael C. Burdette, 87, of Vaughan Avenue, Parkersburg formerly of Weirton, died December 6, 2000 in the emergency room of St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Murraysville, Jackson County, a son of the late Charles and Cora Ann Logston Burdette. He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and was retired from Weirton Steel with 41 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Weirton and the 25 year club of Weirton Steel. He was loved by all his friends, relatives and fellow employees. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle L. Cottrill Burdette. 1 son and daughter-in-law Eugene and Norma Burdette of Weirton. 1 step-son, Bruce Cottrill of Austin, TX. 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. 1 sister, Audrey Pifer of Weirton. He was preceded in death by his first wife Elsa Nelson Burdette. A step-daughter Carol Ann Duckworth, 4 brothers, Lloyd Burdette, Lawrence Burdette, Everett Burdette and Leonard Burdette. 2 sisters Lena DeLong and Clara Pifer. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Rev. Marvin Taylor will officiate and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.
