Mike Zaltani

Mike Zaltani, 85, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 in the Lancia Villa, Steubenville, OH. Born June 17, 1927 in Weirton, he was the son of the late Mike and Margaret Sabastyne Zaltani. He was also preceded in death by his wife Margarite Ostrich Zaltani in 2010 and his sister. With 39 years of service, Mike retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a C. A. Operator. He was a member of the VFW 2716, American Legion Honor Guard and WAARS. He was also a past member of the Weirton Area Water Board and was Presbyterian by faith. He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Zaltani is survived by his brother in law George Ostrich, sister-in-law Stella Hawkins and her husband Carl of Wintersville and nieces Carla Hawkings, Diane Pool and Rhonda Clevenger. Private visitation and memorial services for Mike and Margarite were held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. The Reverend Dr. Philip Makari officiated. Entombment followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH. Please consider a memorial donation to the charity of your choice.
